Ezekiel 2:1-7

Today’s bible verses are Ezekiel 2:1-7. It is talking about how the prophets are obeying God, even though the Israelites won’t listen to them. I hope you enjoy today’s blog.

Ezekiel 2:1-7 New International Version (NIV)

Ezekiel’s Call to Be a Prophet

He said to me, “Son of man,[a] stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.” As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

He said: “Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have been in revolt against me to this very day. The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’ And whether they listen or fail to listen—for they are a rebellious people—they will know that a prophet has been among them. And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people. You must speakmy words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.

Footnotes: Ezekiel 2:1 The Hebrew phrase ben adam means human being. The phrase son of man is retained as a form of address here and throughout Ezekiel because of its possible association with “Son of Man” in the New Testament.

I know the format and set up is different than usual, but I’ve decided to do this from now on. I will also be giving some questions for you to answer and tell me what you think in the comments down below. I copied and pasted this from biblegateway.com. This is a link.

  1. Why do think God keeps sending prophets to them even though they keep disobeying?
  2. Why do the prophets keep going and telling them what God says when the Israelites aren’t going to listen? (answer: love, faithfulness, compassion…obedience)                   I got these questions from Easy Peasy All-In-One Home-school, as well as this is a lesson.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      I really hope you enjoyed today’s blog and learned something from the bible lesson. And as always, I’ll be blogging with you next time on, Christianforkids!                                                                                                                                                                                 Makenzy A.
